Exciting Updates from the Active Transportation Team!
It’s been an eventful month for the Active Transportation Team, and we’re eager to share some exciting news with you!
We’re thrilled to announce our new partnerships with Harbourside Engineering and Upland Planning + Design. Together, we’re working on designing and costing out the Active Transportation network for the Wagmatcook First Nation. This collaboration marks a significant step in improving active transportation options in the region.
In addition to this, we’ve joined forces with C+D Community Design to develop comprehensive plans for the Village of Baddeck and its surrounding areas. Our Core AT Network Projects for these locations are moving ahead smoothly, and we’re looking forward to revealing the plans and designs to the community soon.
Our efforts in Westville and Berwick are also making great strides. We’ve wrapped up the engagement reports for both towns, which you can explore on our Blue Route website’s interactive map. We’re now in the process of refining route priorities within the proposed networks. Once this phase is complete, we’ll be publishing a network report to mark the conclusion of Phase One. Looking ahead, this fall will see the start of the design phase for Westville and Berwick, where we’ll focus on creating accessible and well-connected active transportation networks.
