Description:

Cycling Nova Scotia (Cycling NS) is seeking consultancy services for functional core active transportation (AT) network designs and costing to allow for future leveraging of Provincial and Federal funding streams. The aim is to assess and identify the feasibility and refine design options for creating an All Ages and Abilities (AAA) walking and cycling network that encompasses preliminary AT facility designs drafted by Cycling NS (refer to document) within Victoria County, specifically the Village of Baddeck.

The project encompasses the following key components:

  • Refine and update the preliminary facility type for each of the four network routes identified in the Core AT Network Map produced by Cycling NS. (See document)
  • Engage with the community on the proposed facility designs for each of the four network routes.
  • Provide detailed design drawings (60%) and Class C cost estimates for the entire network.

This initiative will involve thorough design evaluation, active engagement with the public and stakeholders about design considerations, detailed designs (60% drawings) of the preferred facility types, and engineering cost estimations for each network section.

Description:

Cycling Nova Scotia seeks consultancy services for a functional core active transportation (AT) network design drawings and cost estimates. The aim is to assess the feasibility and identify preferred design options for the creation of an All Ages and Abilities (AAA) walking and cycling facility that combines the AT spine planned by CNS with the planned trails network within Wagmatcook First Nation.

The project encompasses the two following key components:

  • Design and estimate engineering costs for multi-use path and crossing facilities alongside the Trans-Canada Highway (HWY 105). See Document.
  • Design and estimate engineering costs for the Wagmatcook First Nation trail networks. See Document.

This initiative will involve thorough route condition evaluation, active engagement with the public and community partners about facility type design considerations, detailed designs (90% drawings) of the preferred facility types, and engineering cost estimations for each network section.
