BLUE ROUTE HUBS PROJECT MOVING INTO PHASE 3

The Blue Route Hubs Project is moving into Phase 3 in New Glasgow! During Phase 3 we will be developing cross sections to show the proposed new active transportation infrastructure on the priority route. A street cross section depicts what new infrastructure would look like visually. We will develop a design for the priority route including intersection treatments, to ensure that people walking, rolling, and cycling can travel safely throughout the route. You can learn more about the Blue Route Hubs Project in New Glasgow on our website.

INFRASTRUCTURE FOR ALL AGES & PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

When our Active Transportation Planner goes through the concept design process for a new bike lane, sidewalk, multi-use pathway, or protected intersection, they will ensure that the design will meet standards set out in the TAC, NACTO, and Dutch CROW manual guidelines for comfort and safety for people of all ages and people with disabilities. We believe that cycling can be a tool for nearly everyone to move around their communities, as long as there is infrastructure provided that meets their needs.

TAKE THE SURVEY

We want to hear from New Glasgow residents and stakeholders about what type of infrastructure would make you feel safe while riding a bike. We invite you to take part in our online survey, which will be open from December 1st to 15th, 2021.
