Blue Route Open in the South Shore!

We are very excited to announce that a new section of the Blue Route Provincial Cycling Network has been opened between Liverpool and Rissers Beach Provincial Park in the South Shore Region. In partnership with the Nova Scotia Department of Public Works Blue Route signage has been installed along this section.  

The Blue Route Provincial Cycling Network (Blue Route) is a province-wide project to create a continuous cycling network. By developing safe, well-connected cycling routes, the Blue Route will make it easier for Nova Scotians to get around the province by bicycle. Through a comprehensive wayfinding system that allows users to easily navigate the network, the Blue Route will help to establish and promote a consistent set of designs and signage guidelines for cycling routes in Nova Scotia.

This scenic 54.5km on-road section begins in Liverpool (Queens Pl Dr & Hwy 3) and includes Trunk  3, Brooklyn Shore Rd, Eastern Shore Rd, Port Medway Rd and Route 331.

This section represents a big step forward in connecting South Shore destinations to communities.  Work continues to continue the Blue Route from Rissers Beach along Route 331 to LaHave, where the LaHave Ferry will connect to Route 332 which is also an open section of the Blue Route.

This section of the Blue Route can be accessed directly from Liverpool or from the Rissers Beach Provincial Park carpark.  We hope to see you cycling on the Blue Route soon!
