We acknowledge that the Blue Route is located in Mi’kma’ki, the unceded and unsurrendered land of the Mi’kmaq people. We are all governed by the Peace and Friendship Treaties, which did not include the surrender of Mi’kmaq rights to land or resources. It is important to be aware of the history of the land we are working on and cycling through and continuously work towards reconciliation with Indigenous people. We are grateful to live, work, and cycle on this land.
