Core Active Transportation Networks Project Update
Cycling Nova Scotia has been busy as of late! We are thrilled with all of the amazing public engagement events and activities we have had Spring/Summer 2023! We want to give a huge thank you to everyone who came out with such great energy and feedback.
We have been running engagement activities in Windsor, Baddeck and Surrounding Area, and Wagmatcook. It was great to see so many people participate and engage with us on the topic of walking, rolling, and cycling in their community. We heard some amazing feedback that will be used to inform our ongoing work with these communities.

CNS partnered with the Ecology Action Centre to run a Youth Mobility Audit in the Winter. Throughout the Spring/Summer we attended a community social, Bingo Card pick-up night, and have worked directedly with the Wagmatcook Trails Committee. We had a wonderful time engaging with the community so far, and look forward to continuing our engagement into August. If you are from Wagmatcook and want to fill in a survey, there’s still some time! Click here to give your response.
CNS has been engaging with the Windsor Active Transportation Committee, hosted a pop-up at the Superstore and attended a Community Social, and the Avon Community Farmers Market for their Christmas in July Market! We received feedback about improving active transportation in the Windsor area, and had a fun time talking about walking, rolling, and cycling as a family, and conversations on how to break down potential barriers.
CNS has just begun our engagement in Baddeck and Surrounding Area. We are working with a Focus Group that includes representatives from the Municipality of Victoria County and Village of Baddeck, and attended the Baddeck Farmers Market. At the market we had interesting and informative conversations from year-round residents, seasonal residents and visitors! We look forward to continuing our engagement into August. If you are from Baddeck and Surrounding Area and want to fill in a survey, there’s still some time! Click here to give your response.
We want to thank everyone who has responded to the surveys, participated in meetings, and attended our pop-ups so far! Stay tuned for more pop-ups in Wagmatcook First Nation and Baddeck and Surrounding Area (Victoria County) coming soon! Follow us on Instagram and Facebook for more updates.
